Hot Stone Massage Therapy

Hot Stone Massage

Many of our clients find Hot Stone Massage to be both comforting and beneficial. With Hot Stone Massage, the warmth of the stones enhances the massage by increasing the circulation that massage induces.

Our Hot Stones are flat, smooth stones. Often, the stones are naturally occurring river stones smoothed by the tumbling action of the water.

Our therapists heat the stones in sanitizing water and hold them to ensure the stones aren't too warm before placing them at key points on your body. Some therapists target the body's energy centers. The stones may be temporarily left in place, or we may use them as part of the session with light, fluid strokes.

We combine the hot stones with several other modalities like Swedish Massage to give you a relaxing, beneficial massage session.

If you enjoy heat during your massage session but don't want to use the stones, we can substitute warm compresses.

Basalt and Hot Stone Massage Therapy

The stones in Hot Stone Massage Therapy are made from basalt rocks. Basalt is associated with the elements of fire and earth, and it has been found on Earth, Mars, and Jupiter's moon IO (based on findings by NASA).

The tumbling and rolling action of water smooths the stones making them soft to the touch.

We use basalt stones because they retain the warmth well and release it slowly throughout the massage. Are you ready to enhance your massage session? Visit Mainstreet Massage Therapy and try Hot Stone Massage.
